My New Video Game is On Shelves!

Finally! My new video game “Atelier Totori: Adventurer of Arland” is now available everywhere for all of your RPG-playing pleasure. I voice the lead character, Totori, a teenage alchemist adventurer who sets off on the quest of a lifetime.

A Doll I Voiced is on Shelves Now!

See that cute little pink round lady with the wing-shaped ears? That’s a Fijit Friend named Serafina, and if you talk to her, you will hear my voice talking back (with a ton of adorable autotune). I voiced this doll last year for Mattel, and I am so proud to announce that it’s finally available in stores. Serafina will talk to you, tell you jokes, sing and even play music and dance. Check out the website to hear some samples. It’s pretty awesome, and I know that I would’ve wanted one when I was a kid!

As soon as I heard that Fijit Friends were out on the shelves, I ran to Target to gaze at them in all their glory. I had to visit three stores before I finally found one that carried Serafina (there are three other Fijits, and not every store stocks them all). The sales associate looked at me like I was the one with wing-shaped ears when I announced loudly that I had been waiting for months for this toy to come out.

I’m hoping this toy will obtain Tickle-Me-Elmo status come Christmas. With the new technology it’s touting, I think it’s possible!

Dance Class

I took dance class about three times a week from age 8 to 14, but after that I just kind of… stopped. I wanted to continue, but I had started auditioning in NYC and that took up a lot of after-school time. Also, I remember my parents saying that they hated recitals, and they didn’t want me doing any more (I think it had something to do with the costumes? Or maybe they just thought they were a pain. I’ll have to inquire about this when I go visit them next week).

In LA, there are dance studios that offer drop-in classes. I started going to tap class again about two weeks ago after years and years of not having done more than the occasional shuffle off to Buffalo in a frozen food aisle to keep warm. I’m happy to report that muscle memory exists. I can still flap-ball-change and shuffle-hop-step without falling on my face. So, I’m going to try to go to class at least once a week: partly because I enjoy it, and partly because it elevates my heartbeat, which I’ve heard is good if you want to do the whole exercise thing.

People keep telling me I should try yoga. Everyone in LA does yoga. I’m pretty sure their dogs do yoga, too. I’m pretty sure the number one pickup line in LA is, “what yoga studio do you go to?” My answer: none! Yes, we had yoga in NYC, but it wasn’t like every. single. person. did it. I’ve never tried yoga, and I just can’t bring myself to. Something about it just seems too slow for me. And quiet. If I’m going to take a class, I’d rather jump around and make a lot of noise and leave the building with a mini combo dance I can practice in front of my cat for the rest of the week, or random strangers in line at the bank.
